He is risen!

What a wonderful resurrection Sunday we had :) What a sweet time it is to remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. I live each and everyday in need of his Grace. I'm looking forward to the Easter Sunday's when we'll get to have conversations about Jesus and why we have this holiday. However, with a 15 month old the most you can do is open baskets and have an egg hunt... so we did! We went to service at church early in the morning, then my parents came over for lunch and an egg hunt. What fun it was!

Baskets for Mommy, Daddy, Jet, and baby brother

Daddy did all the egg hiding this year and he did an awesome job. He didn't make them too hard but put some "challenging" ones (as I call them) around the house too. 

Right after church Jet went down for his nap and we "hid" his basket in the play room. He saw all the other baskets on the coffee table so it was fun to bring him to his.

Daddy took him to a few corners in the room asking, "is it over here?"

"What's in the corner?"

Found it!

He was quite curious :)

The slinky was a hit. Daddy kept pretending he was "sneezing" it out of his nose.

Next in the basket, bubbles. Jet likes to try to "catch" them once they're blown but getting them blown without him grabbing the wand is quite tricky. We let him hold the wand a few times but then he tried to put it right in his mouth. He doesn't understand the concept of "blowing" yet.

Along with a "regular" bubble wand we took a gamble on the all-star "bubble gun." And oh yes, it was worth every bit of the $4 (quite a penny to spend on bubbles if you ask me but glad we did it). This thing was the king of bubbles! Check out how many it makes!

Jet got to hold the wand "with Daddy" and press the button to make the bubbles form. What a joyful activity!

Next was the Easter egg hunt (we hid them early in the morning and then waited until Grandma and Grandpa came to have the hunt). Inside each egg was an oh-so-treasured veggie puff... his favorite snack. Just imagine a mini cheese puff, scratch the cheese, add "veggie powder" in place of the "cheese powder," make them a little easier to bite into, and triple the price. There you have it. Baby Veggie Puffs by Gerber and he can't get enough of them.

Once he realized what the "prize" was inside he was jacked when he found an egg. His eyes would get wide as he waited for Grandma or Daddy to open the egg.

We had to give him "hints" to find some of the eggs. Here's Grandma helping :)

After the egg hunt was over and Grandma and Grandpa left I was surprised at how much he loved playing with the eggs (took him a little while to realize the veggie puffs didn't reappear every time you opened an egg). He really enjoyed putting the eggs into his basket, carrying them around, dumping them out, and using his basket as a hat.

Along with lots of fun that day, we felt the love from up North. Here are our Easter baskets from Mimi and Pappy (JT's parents). There were lots more treats in the baskets when they arrived, however this picture was taken after the "culprit" had eaten just about everything. I blame baby brother ;)

My parents were so sweet and brought tulips! Aren't they SO pretty?? I look at them often throughout my day as they make me smile. I can't wait until they are fully bloomed :)

My wonderful husband also bought me flowers. He knows how much I like bright colors so he opted for the dyed daisies.. good choice hubs :)

We are so blessed. This is my favorite holiday as it reminds me of my freedom in Christ. I have nothing to fear and I have hope that goes beyond anything of this world. Praise the Lord for Jesus... and this sweet life he has blessed me with!

Mimi and Pappy come to town

JT's parents got the chance to come visit for a few days and what a treat it was! We mostly just spent time together but we also went to a Mexican restaurant and experienced the juicer :) I didn't get many pictures from the week but thought I would record what I could. We love you Mom and Dad! Thanks for making the trip!!

They bought Jet these bunny ears for Easter... isn't he so cute??!!!?

Dad was quite skeptical about the juice machine but was a trooper nonetheless. He tried (and finished) every juice JT put in front of him. Here's a "green" juice that included onions in it... Mom and I opted out on that one ;)

And just because I have them... a few pictures of Jetman eating his snack. I just think he's adorable no matter what he's doing!

Our kids are so blessed to have grandparents who love them so much. I'm one thankful Mama!

I must admit life has me pretty tired right now. Fighting some sort of virus, growing a baby, chasing another one around... I'm.exhausted. SO, instead of lots of writing I'm just going to post some random pictures of late so you can see your fav. boy :) 

Just a few pics

I know I'm very behind in my postings. It's been a whirlwind here. I figured I would do a quick post to give you Jet fans out there a little something to hold you over. Jet is starting to get a snack in the afternoons. His favorite is a strawberry cereal bar by Kashi. Normally I sit with him and he takes bites from it. This day I had to run and get my phone (I think) and 5 seconds later I look over and the little stinker grabbed it off the coffee table to start feeding himself. I thought it was cute :)

As cereal bars are pretty crumbling it inevitably led to the high chair.

 And here's a fun pic of him sleeping with a blanket (successfully). Doesn't happen often but he was really tired this day. Normally he just plays with it. Although the bumper still served as his body pillow :)

Waiting for Daddy

One of my favorite times of the day is near the end when we're waiting for Daddy to get home. When it's nice outside I lay a blanket on the grass and we play with a few toys while we wait. Here are a few pictures :)

Stayin' busy!

We are stayin' busy with busy bags! Busy bags are cheap home made activities that can fit into a gallon ziploc bag. I participated in a busy bag swap. I chose an activity and made 11 of those bags. Then, I went to the swap and received a bag from each of the other moms. We now have 11 new activities to try out! Jet is still a little young for most of them but we did 2 of the activities this week. The first one is the one I made. It's a plastic bottle with beads in it. The idea is when he gets older he can dump the beads out and put them back in the bottle. I would imagine this helps develop fine motor skills as well as keep him busy for a while. However, right now it is used as a maraca :)

 This is the latest skill.. carrying things in his mouth so his hands are free.

The next activity is called rainbow rice. We have 5 different colors but we just used one, the green. I never realized it but Jet has never put his hands in rice! At first he was quite timid but once he realized it's not sticky (he doesn't like his hands being sticky) he dug right in.

Some rice stuck to his hands and he didn't like it... so he picked it off :)

Once he realized I wasn't going to make him keep it in the bowl, it all ended in his lap.
