He loves him!! Many of you know Jet had a hard time with the idea of another person taking Mommy and Daddy's attention (can you blame him?). 3 months later and he absolutely loves the little guy. He wants to hold him, hug him, kiss him, tickle him, put his pacifier in when he cries, and just take care of him. He even looks for him when he comes downstairs first thing in the morning. If we go somewhere without him Jet points to his car seat, cries, and says "baaaby!" .. as if he's missing and shouldn't be. Praise the Lord for little blessings!

Outside and others
We like to take advantage of the North Carolina weather (i.e. having four legitimate seasons) and play outside quite a bit. There aren't many times when we're inside that Jet doesn't run to the kitchen, point to the door, and chant to go outside. The people who owned this house before us left a nice hoop in the driveway. Since Jet isn't tall enough to shoot without lots of help we got him his own hoop. This was the first day it was up and let me tell you, this kid shot the ball over and over for at atleast 20 minutes straight. Fun times!
JT caught this beauty of a shot a few weeks ago. The Tripster was having issues staying asleep through the night. He wasn't hungry he just couldn't stay asleep without someone right next to him. Since then we've figured out that he needed to be swaddled again but this morning was a typical morning that I would get up with him, take him downstairs, and calm him down. Usually I would put him in the swing then start my day. However, on this particualr day I remember that I seriously couldn't keep my eyes open. My eye lids felt like bricks on top of bricks. So, on the couch we cuddled and slept :) So go the days of motherhood... but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Here's another outside day... I found this scooter at a garage sale and it ended up being quite a find... Jet loves it! He can't ride it on his own right now so JT and I hold his hands as he stands there and we push him around. Whenever he wants to play with it and we're not around he pushes it like this...
And here's Trip. I was trying to keep him awake so he'd take a longer nap. I thought I was so smart to put him in the bumbo so he'd stay awake... yea, that worked.
Here's Jetman with his favorite hat from Mimi and Pappy asking to go outside. Love him :)

A little more catch up
Here are a few pictures from our life lately...
Now that we have a big back yard we had the ability to get a kiddie pool and fun sprinkler system. Jet l-o-v-e-s the water!! He'll stay out there for hours with a few buckets and the hose. Makes his mama happy that he likes the water so much :)
Jet is also quite a fan of the sand box. He especially likes it when he has toys to dump sand into and then dump out again. This is at a local park.
Do I have to smile mom?
Sweet baby T out of the bath :)
A positive bit of news to report is that Jet loves his baby brother now!! If you didn't know, Jet was not too impressed with Trip's arrival. He really didn't like him in the beginning and would just get angry when we would bring Trip over to him. Through the last month or so he's warmed up to him. Whenever he wants to hold Trip or help him I try to encourage Jet by calling him a "great big brother" and a "great help." This inspires him to help more so he finds things to do to get more praise. His latest is giving Trip his pacifier when he cries... melts my heart. He's still a little rough (i.e. he tries to shove the pacifier in with one big push) but he's getting better with practice :)
One of our favorite summer time spots is Sunny Skies home made ice cream parlor. It's about a 25 minute ride so we don't go as often as we'd like but we got there last week. Needless to say Jet's a fan of ice cream. Trip was cranky and the bugs were bad so we weren't there very long but we ate every last drip of that yummy goodness.
And here are the boys during lunch... love these everyday activities
More catch up later!

Short on time
Well, I guess having a newborn and a toddler makes for one busy mama! Haven't had a lot of time to update here, but I want to catch up. I like recording our memories in one place so we can look back for years to come. For a quick post I'll just put a few pics of each of the boys...
Somehow this kid managed to get to the pantry, get the box of crackers, take them all the way to the living room, open the box and dump them all on the floor without me noticing 5 feet away. Distracted much?? :) My first reaction was, "get the camera!"

Then, he felt that doing a forward roll on top of the crackers was the appropriate thing to do. Don't worry, I intercepted right after I got my picture for memories sake!
And this cute little peanut is smiling now :)
And making silly faces
And holding his head up like a big boy!!
I love my boys to the moon and back!!!

The "haze"
We're in it folks... the "haze." This is what I have officially nick named what life is like when you have a newborn. You don't really remember specific moments in time but rather a blurry vision of the last few weeks. Showers become few and far between and wearing anything but sweatpants or work out shorts is also a rarity. Meals are cooked by others and even though you don't really remember the taste the next day you know it was good because it wasn't from a box. 95% of your time is used trying to remember when the baby ate last and whether the 19 month old understands you. There isn't much time for sleep or thinking about eating a nutritious meal. At this point you are simply surviving, putting one foot in front of the other as the moments come. What a beautiful reminder of the gospel. A beautiful reminder that Christ is taking care of my needs in the same way I'm taking care of my boys'. I'm not aware of my needs for him and ignorantly think I'm the one taking care of myself. I don't appreciate or acknowledge all He does for me but he doesn't stop providing. Out of his unconditional love for me he continues to anticipate and provide my every need. So thankful for my savior. Off to face the day with the renewed energy of God's love for me... and a cup of coffee on the side ;)
So thankful for this gift

The Tripster
We have been so blessed by the presence of Trip David in our lives. It's amazing how much you love your first child that you think you could never love another child the same... but you do! Your love isn't cut in half, it's just multiplied :) I am absolutely overwhelmed by this little boy. I love holding him, just looking at him, seeing him grow, hearing him coo, and just being with him. Here are a few pictures from his first few weeks of life. I think he's definitely "changed looks" a few times. One thing's for sure, he's no line backer like his brother. He has skinny lil bird legs and I love them! However, he is like my mother who is "deceptively strong." He has already rolled over from stomach to back by pushing off with his arms and lifting his head so far off the ground. Maybe he'll be quarterback and Jet will block for him :)
The cookie monster towel is my fav!!! Thanks Uncle Matt and Aunt beth!!
Someone started playing with all the newborn toys :)
He always gets so cozy on Daddy :)
One is strapped in and the other can't move... motherhood perfected.
Look at those legs!!
He loves a bath as long as the water is really hot
Wiped out
More pics to come!
