Grace Upon Grace: 8 months!

Hard to believe... two thirds of a year down! Our wonderful boy was 8 months old almost a week ago. Here are some things to remember about his 8th month...

-He's starting to crawl!! It's still "selective crawling" .. meaning he doesn't just take off. It still takes time, effort, and focus to get across the blanket to a toy he wants but he can get it done.
-2 more teeth! They are on the top, but not the middle ones. They are the "fangs" right next to the middles ones. Sure hope the others follow soon so we don't have a little dracula :)
-He's eating puffs with his hand like a pro (mostly right hand). About 80-90 percent of the puffs get in his mouth. We've moved on to bananas with "cheerio dust" on them which are a little more difficult but we're getting better every day.
-He's wearing 12 month clothes now. He's 21 pounds and just a little line backer. Don't mess with this guy :)
-He's experimenting with his voice saying things like "wa wa" and "ba ba" even though he doesn't know what they mean. He also "sings" to himself sometimes in his crib when he wakes up or if he's just alone.
-We've gotten some really good belly laughs out of him.
-He knows the words "no" and "no touch."
- He can definitely sit up without falling but still can't get to sitting up on his own.
-He uses his bumper as a "body pillow." It's hilarious. We'll go in there in the morning and he's (99 times out of 100) pushed up as far as he can be with his face in the bumper. Sometimes he has an arm and leg wrapped around the bumper with his head on it like a pillow. I use a body pillow every night. Like mama like son!
-He still puts everything in his mouth and likes toys that he can fit in his hand. He doesn't "interact" with toys yet; i.e. hammering or pushing buttons to get certain sounds. All his actions are still pretty random.
-Starting to roll around and move on your lap.
-He knows changing table and high chair manners :) (age appropriate of course)
-Still likes to be flipped upside down

-He still enjoys the mirror quite a bit. He gives the biggest smile to himself or to me once he sees the mirror.

Here are his 8 month pictures. These were actually taken a day late since we travelled on the 3rd. But I made the sign to say the 3rd to keep continuity for the whole collection of monthly pictures. He was also due for a nap so we didn't get as many smiles as normal. Oh well, the "not as happy" pictures are so cute and fun to have anyways :)
