Uncle Mikey in Vegas!!

JT had a 3 day conference in Vegas and since my brother Michael lives there we decided that JT should take a couple days off work following the conference and Jet and I would tag along.  Jet and I stayed with Michael the whole time and JT joined when he wasn't working.  We pretty much had a b-l-a-s-t!  We love Michael and had so much fun.  It definitely adds a challenge when traveling with a newborn, but Jet did great.  Here's a nice little (and by little I mean big) picture timeline.

This was our first flight out.  The plane wasn't full so we had a whole row to ourselves meaning we could take the carseat with us and didn't have to hold Jet the whole time.  He slept for a while, ate twice, and played in our laps.  Awesome-ly smooth flight!  (and thanks to Aunt Beth for the tip of feeding during take-off!!).

My first plane ride!  Too bad it's not a Jet.. :)

This is Daddy's big bed in his enormous suite!

Daddy's view from his hotel room... the strip!

Uncle Mikey and Jet playing under the play mat.. thanks for getting that Michael!

While JT was at his convention Michael and I explored the city.  Here we are in the Bellagio.  They have a really great garden indoors that they change every two months.  Those bees are made out of flowers!

A fabulous attraction... the World's largest chocolate fountain!

Michael bought us the best chocolate covered strawberries I've ever had... ever.

Just hanging out and being such a good boy in my stroller!

Oh just another huge indoor fountain

Back home taking a break and relaxing

Uncle Mikey feeding his first bottle.  Jet didn't mess around... by the time this was finished Michael was doing acrobatics trying to keep up with the twists and wiggles of his nephew.  You did great!

Yes, I brought books with me!

God planned this perfectly!  JT got off work and was able to join us for a few shows at the fountain!

Cool shot with the camera Michael!

When JT finished up work we went to the pool where Michael works.  Here, Jet is getting sun screened up.

Love my handsome boys!

Bath time in the sink!

My favorite attraction of the trip (besides Michael) .. the aquarium!  Well hello Mr. crocodile!

Insert Jaws theme song here....

The petting room!  We were brave :)  Didn't get stung once!

Picking out our target

I love my Uncle Mikey!!

These are the greatest socks ever!  Uncle Mikey bought these for Jet and he's worn them for 5 of the last 6 days :)

At the Bellagio fountains in our matching green warm-ups!

Hilarious... that kid is always moving!

Back home and in my Elvis bib :)

Had to capture where Jet slept the whole week... yup, in the bath tub.  He was quite cozy!

The plane ride back wasn't quite as smooth as the first... but still great nonetheless.  Jet cried a few times for about a minute each.  We were off schedule and tired.  Here's the Grand Canyon (I think).

We love you Michael!!  Thanks so much for a great trip.  You were a great host and entertainer.  We are so proud of you and are excited for the adventures that await you.  Can't wait to see you again!!

Aunt Beth and Uncle Matt

It's taken me a while to write this post as much of my heart traveled across the US and is now in San Fransisco.. that's right, 3,000 miles away.  Matt (my brother) and his wife beth left on April 1st to embark on a journey of a new job in a new and exciting place together.  It's a great time and opportunity for it.  So happy for them both.  However, that meant saying "see you later" (as we don't say "goodbye" :) which was quite hard.  However, I am looking forward to the day we get to see each other in person again as the screeches and smiles will be plentiful.  In anticipation of moving beth came over and spent the day with Jet and I a few weeks ago.  We got many smiles and good shots from that day along with moving day.  Enjoy everyone!

We love Donna and Larry!  Hang in there you two!!

My parents and Matt and Beth

Uncle Matt and Aunt beth we love you more than you could know.  Thanks for being such special people in our lives.  Your return is already being anticipated but we are excited about the wonderful stories of adventure that God has for you.  Stay strong out there and remember how much love and support you have in North Carolina!!

Just a little update

I received a "reminder" from my google calendar that it was time to put more pictures on the blog (which is mysteriously my mother's email too... strange).  So google calendar, here ya go!

This is how he sleeps sometimes. "Floating hands" is what we call them.  Just lifts them in the air and keeps them there for quite a while.  Mom says it brings her back to when I was a baby because I did the same thing all the time (she called mine floating hands so it just stuck with Jet too).

Aunt Beth put sunglasses on Jet, silly but cute!

Hope that holds my "google calendar" over for a while :)

3 months old!

Is time flying or what??  Apparently, our Jet Engine is no longer a newborn but is now an "infant" as of today.  And we can tell!  Here are a few things we've notice this month.

-Definitely laughing/smiling intentionally - especially at funny sounds and when you "run" with his hands.

-He giggles when you tickle him :)

-He knows when play time is over and nap time is beginning.  It's very normal for him to cry as I put him down for a nap, and then 30 seconds later he falls right asleep.

-Can see from much farther away now.  Jet will follow me or JT around the room with his eyes.

-Trying to roll over, not quite there yet though.  However yesterday morning I went in to get him from the night and he had scooted about 1 and a half feet downwards in the crib.  He was almost to the other side.. have no idea how that happened!

-Starting to know his name... either that or Mommy and Daddy's voices.  We talk to him and he turns his head to look.

-Loves to kick his feet!  He will lay down and kick a toy all day long.  We have a feeling that once this little boy becomes mobile we will be 2 very tired parents.  He's still not hitting/grabbing things with his hands yet, maybe next month!

Well, there ya have it.  I was taking pictures of him and he just made the best faces.  So, I've put quite a few on here :)  Enjoy!

Moving like crazy!

Happy 3 months Jet Engine!  You're doing a great job and we love you!!

Holding my head up!

Look who can sit in his seat by himself like a big boy!
Way to go Jet Thomas!
