A milestone

Guess who slept for 8 STRAIGHT hours last night?!?!

It was the first stretch of 8 hours so who knows if it'll happen again tonight... but I'll take it!  Way to go Jet Engine!!!

Seefood diet... over.

Well, now that the baby is here the baby weight must be lost.  Which means I gotta kick the "seafood" diet to the curb and pick up the exercising once more.  I took advantage of the 73 degree weather here and went on my first run in 15 months.  Man, did I feel it!  Jet did great.  I pushed him for 2 miles and he slept the entire time.  It was by a lake and my stroller has a built in iPod jack and speakers so I could listen to music without having headphones on.  It was quite nice. Haven't run since because my legs yell at me every time I sit down or go upstairs, but we'll be hitting the pavement again sometime this week.  Feels good to run, thankful that I can!

That's right folks, yesterday... we braved the pool... and he did great!!  I did my research and found a very warm pool nearby.  We got there and he was sound asleep through all the noise and even changing him into his swim diaper (borrowed from Mark and Kristy... thanks guys!).  Once we got in the water he stayed asleep, which tells you how warm it was.  He woke up slowly and was content the entire time.  Nothing could've made me happier.  Daddy and I took turns holding him and swishing his legs through the water.  And then, I dunked him :)  3 times!  Well, not in a row.  There's a certain way to do this.  You count to three and blow in the baby's face.  When you blow, this makes them take a breath and you quickly dunk them in the water and back up again in less than a second.  Jet did great.  He's used to water on his face from the bathtub, so this was nothing new.  I think going under the water was a new sensation so he came up a little confused, but went right back to being content again.  I had an absolute blast.  This is something I've pictured doing with my new babies ever since I can remember.  It was just a special day for me.  JT was so supportive and had a blast as well.  Can't wait to go again!

Bath Time!

I am proud to announce that I have a "water baby" :)  Jet Thomas loves the water.  Or at least he's content with it for now.  I've always wanted to get my kids used to and comfortable with the water early on.  With my Dad as a dive coach my mom made sure all 3 of us were safe in the water when we were little.  I was actually swimming before I could walk.  I remember my childhood summer's at the pool loving every minute swimming, diving, and just having a blast.  Jet will be getting into the pool soon, but for now I'm getting him used to the water in the bath tub.  Enjoy the following pictures and notice the water being dumbed on his head... I pour it on his head and it washes over his face and he's totally fine with it :)

Back on my feet

Well folks, several virus' and crazy sicknesses are going around here in North Carolina, and I got one.  It started to show itself Thursday night and was official Friday morning.  So, I have been in bed as much as possible trying to beat it before it turned into a full sinus infection (I get those pretty regularly).  I can safely say (I think) that I'm on the mend... and boy am I glad to be!  JT took the entire "night shift" Friday and Saturday night... what a hero :)  I was so excited falling asleep on Friday and Saturday knowing I didn't have to get up in the middle of the night... it felt like christmas!  Well, we have been doing lots of this...

Traveling!!  No where too far away, just around here looking for a house to buy.  That's right, we're on the hunt!  Our place has been on the market for almost 2 weeks and we have our 4th showing tomorrow.  When they call or text my phone saying we have people who want to see the house, I have to get my little reindeer bundled up and head out.  With the showings along with looking for a house ourselves, Jet is getting quite used to the carseat and his reindeer "jacket" (Thanks Grandma Emrick!).  

We've also been doing lots of this...

Swinging and just hanging out together.  Jet's getting old enough to start interacting and he's staying awake a lot more.  It's quite a blast speeding the day with him.  More pictures to come.  For now, cleaning for our next showing tomorrow!

6 weeks... 6 hours!

Jet decided to celebrate being 6 weeks old by sleeping for 6 straight hours :)  He's beginning to smile a lot more and show a little bit of his personality.  He loves playing with the toys under his play mat, well... he really just looks at the toys but he's quite intrigued by them.  I use a gliding chair to feed him, but he's starting to use his legs and push off quite hard whenever he can and right now he's just tall enough to push off the arm of the chair.  What fun adventures we have figuring out this little man.  We just love watching him grow.  Here are a few pictures I took Tuesday when he was officially 6 weeks old.  Enjoy!

Friends!

We had our first "play date!"  Some other first time mommies and me got together to chat about our crazy adventures.  Jet played with one of his first friends, Ava.  He looks like he's teaching her about the play mat :)  Ava's 2 weeks older than Jet so Marcie and I got to share pregnant life together and now life with a baby.  This luncheon was quite fun.  I didn't get many pictures of the others, but we did capture the moment Jet got to meet Cosmo... Stephanie and Jason's dog.  JT absolutely adores Cosmo so this was a big day.  Love you friends!  Will get more pictures next time!

Jet and I got to go into JT's office yesterday and visit with his co-workers.  Jet was the center of attention and was so good.  We love you Daddy and are so grateful for how you provide for us.  We are so proud of you!!

We're back baby!

So, after many.. many months the blog has returned.  I figured the arrival of a special little boy was worthy of restarting the ole blog.  I will start with a photo timeline of little man's life :)  More stories and posts to come!
